if He trades beauty for ashes, if He gives the oil of gladness instead of mourning and a cloak of praise instead of a heavy spirit, we should too. unfortunately everyone carries ashes of hurt, everyone has seasons of mourning, and our spirits grow heavy and burdensome. the ashes we all carry: hurt, lies, deceit, gossip, jealousy…it goes on, it is so very important that we reach out to one another and we love in a way we were beautifully and fearfully made, not harboring hatred in our hearts (even i am so guilty of this) for one another because that is not the way we were meant to live. humble yourself and don’t let your heart harden. don’t judge. remember you have fallen short too and where would you be if you hadn’t been forgiven? so forgive your brothers and sisters, protect them, and most of all, love them, faithfully, as you are faithfully loved.

“Even though God has forgiven me, I don’t forgive myself; but it’s the only way I can be a better mother, sister, and daughter.” #loveheals
